This is a constant voltage AC-DC power supply for powering LED lighting such as our MR16 bulbs and strip light. This DC power supply takes 230V mains and outputs a regulated 12V DC up to a maximum load of 192W (16A).
The power supply itself is waterproof with an IP67 rating. The unit comes with a 3-pin plug injection molded to the input wire, making installation easy, however you must make sure that it is installed by a qualified electrician if hard-wiring in, so the mains connections are safe.
A replacement supply like this is often required if you are substituting 12V halogen bulbs with LED bulbs, as halogens are usually run on AC, but most LEDs require DC.

This power supply is part of the Meanwell ELG series, which are SELV rated and are recommended for commercial jobs. They are constructed using metal casing, 3-wire input with earth and 2-wire DC output. The 100W to 240W models come with a moulded 3-pin plug on a 1m lead, while the 60W to 80W models come with a bare wire lead.
