This recessed or surface-mounted PIR sensor can be used for automatic lighting applications in your household, such as in hallways, kitchens, bathrooms and garages. This sensor is easy to install and simple to use.
Its compact size of just 62mm in length and 16.5mm diameter makes it perfect for discrete installations and is designed to either be recessed into a surface or mounted on top using the plastic sleeve (included). Once recessed, the face will protrude just 9mm from the surface. It comes with 1m long wires with small plugs on the ends, which can be cut off for wiring.
PIR sensors detect infrared heat, making them ideal for sensing human bodies so the light can turn on when you enter the room. The sensor will detect any part of the human body once it is within 2m, activating the light. The light will stay on for as long as the body is within 2m and for a further 40 seconds after you move away more than 2m.
It runs from both 12V DC and 24V DC and is wired between the power supply and light. Each sensor comes with wires labelled for connecting the input and output, and plugs which can easily be cut off to expose the wires if needed. To install using the plastic sleeve, first clip it over the PIR sensor, then use the two screws supplied to attach it to the surface.
Please note there is a minimum loading of 5W required for this sensor to operate correctly.
