This internally mounted PIR infrared motion sensor can be used for automatic lighting applications in your household, such as in hallways, kitchens, bathrooms and garages. PIR sensors detect infrared heat, making them ideal for sensing human bodies so the light can turn on when you enter the room or open the door! This sensor is designed to be integrated into an aluminium LED Striplight channelling, but could be used in other enclosures/situations.
It is multi-voltage, running from 12 to 24V DC and outputs up to 8A of current.
It turns on when a person is detected within sensor range (<2m) and automatically turns off after a 40 second delay. Each time a person is detected, the delay is reset so the light will remain on.
This is designed to be mounted inside a piece of aluminium channel with a diffused plastic cover. Cut a 10.5mm hole in the diffuser and insert the sensor head. Solder the input wire to the V+ and V- at the input end of the PCB board, and the LED strip light to the LED+ and LED- at the output end.
