This Infra-Red door proximity sensor works to activate any 12 or 24V DC LED when a cupboard door is opened. It is installed inside the cupboard, wardrobe or pantry etc. and will automatically turn the light off when covered by the closed door and turn the light on when the door is opened.
It is designed to be used and installed alongside LED strip light inside an aluminium channel, but could be installed into other enclosures or used 'bare'.
It is ideal for use in the home as well as in motorhomes and caravans for automatic lighting. Measuring just 55mm in length, this sensor is very discrete.
We use these sensors in our SlimLite 300mm Cupboard Lights and SlimLite 500mm Pantry Lights, all of which can be made to custom lengths if required, and are available in both 12V DC and 230V AC.
To install in channel, cut a hole in the side of a length of aluminium channel, measuring 7mm long by 5mm high for the detector head to operate through. Solder the input wire to the V+ and V- at the input end of the PCB board, and the LED strip light to the LED+ and LED- at the output end. The sensor should be located within 100mm of the door when closed.
