This Infra-Red hand/door sensor switch works to activate 12 or 24V DC LED products. It is designed to be installed alongside LED strip light, cabinet lights, or other low voltage LED lighting.
Measuring just 19mm in diameter, this sensor head is very discrete. It is ideal for use in kitchens, wardrobes, laundries, offices, and work areas for automatic lighting, or in situations that require touch-free lighting for cleanliness such as over sink areas. It can take loading up to 8A, which is up to 13m of our most popular LED COB Strip light.
In Hand Sensor Mode, simply wave your hand within 50mm of the sensor to turn it on. Repeat to turn it off again. In Door Sensor Mode, it will automatically turn the light on when the door is opened, and turn it off again when the door is closed.
The unit comes with 1 sensor head, but it can operate up to 3 heads at the same time. You can find the extra heads sold separately here. If you have more than 1 door (so for double or triple door cabinets/cupboards) each sensor will operate the light - if one head is triggered it will turn the light on. So it doesn't matter which door you open or how many are open, the light will stay on until all doors are closed again.
Each sensor head can be installed either recessed or surface-mounted, via the supplied mounting bracket. The base block and each sensor head come with mounting hardware (Phillips screws).
This model is White in colour - we also have it available in Black.
To install, simply connect the power input wire to the indicated 'Input +' and 'input -' screw terminals on the sensor base block, and the LED strip light to the 'Output +' and 'Output -' screw terminals. The sensor head plugs in via the attached connector head, and up to 3 heads can be connected in total. You can then mount the base block up to 1m away from the sensor head installation location. Set the slide switch to the desired mode on the base block - 'Hand' for hand sensor mode, and 'Door' for door sensor mode.
